Work commenced on the 4th March and is scheduled to finish at the beginning of April.

The plan is to:-

  • Relay the filter drains.  The swale will be split in two (for drainage purposes) and connections will be made to the sewer on the opposite side of the road, where the sewer is deeper.
  • The new filter drain system will be 200mm in diameter with 150mm branches off it.  There will be a specific bedding material, specific filter material (wrapped in a geotextile membrane) and a specific filter material.  It will be laid at a depth of approx 500mm.
  • It will be covered in topsoil, graded and seeded.
  • The inlets and outlets will be altered with the slopes realigned, with specific attention paid to the inlet where there is persistent ponding.
  • The inlets and outlets will have shrubs planted around them.
  • A new path was also constructed in January 2014.
  • There will not be any extra trees planted.
